Life is hard, sometimes depressing. We know there’s hope. So we fought for it, day and night, chasing wealth, reputation, love — those we think would lead us happily ever after.

No doubt it feels great to improve, to get paid out of our endeavor. But there we go, left dissatisfied at the end of the road, calling what’s next to repeat the same cycle over again.

Life is a constellation of ups and downs — and to be sure, no one feels happy all the time. But, if we can choose proportions between happiness and unhappiness, sure we want the former to take the lead.

And yet, it’s true for some people, life is a heaven to be savored. Sure they can be sad or dissatisfied, but not for long to back on track.

On the opposite, there’re people who despite their fortune and prosperity, seem constantly haunted by the shadows of remorse and dissatisfaction.

This keeps me questioning, what is the source of such polarity?

Were we born with different capacities for joy? Does our condition make us so? Or is it only a matter of willingness and determination?

Here I’ll share with you an answer worth considering.
