How to Master Your Emotion

Utilizing the framework of Adlerian psychology

External events do not alone produce emotion, their interaction with your internal processes did. This internal process is called: mental framework.

Your mental frameworks manage your interpretations, interpretations give rise to appropriate emotions.

Events → mental framework → emotional response

Psychologist, Carol Dweck, has made a great case for it. People can either belong to a fixed or growth mindset group, given similar setbacks they’ll respond differently:

Failure → Fixed mindset (I’m a fool)→ regret

Failure → Growth mindset (This isn’t my time yet) → ambition

Failure is just an example of many events which can make you miserable. Bad fortunes, traumatic past, and personal weaknesses are also things that trigger bad emotions.

But what if there’s a mental framework you can learn to circumvent these undesirable states? Well, there is. Let me explain.
